Past President Phyllis C. Goodman, passes the baton to our new President, Soror Tonia Whitley Gray.

The Glamorous Gamma Legacy :Celebrating Our Past President

Our History

Seeking to form a sisterhood with other dedicated professional registered nurses, Phyllis Carter Goodman envisioned chartering an illustrious graduate chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated.® The first official organizational meeting took place at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Log Cabin on April 16, 2016, at 2:00 pm. Subsequent meetings were meticulously conducted to provide comprehensive education about the esteemed organization. Aspiring registered nurses were informed that the journey to charter a graduate chapter would demand unwavering dedication and resolute commitment.

During the formative phases of organization, applications for membership were completed. Twelve tenacious and passionate registered nurses were determined to see the process to fruition. On June 8, 2016, the official “Request for Organization” was triumphantly approved, paving the way to charter a chapter in the Southeast Region. After nearly a year of rigorous meetings and impactful community service, the dream of establishing the first nursing sorority in Sampson County was realized.

Gamma Eta Eta Chapter was officially chartered on May 20, 2017, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Clinton, North Carolina, under the distinguished 20th Administration of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated®. The National President at that time was the esteemed Dr. Elcedo Bradley; the National Organizer was the proficient Linda Tellison, BSN, RN; and the Southeast Regional Director was the accomplished Dr. Rhonda Hollis. The Gamma Eta Eta Chapter proudly received 501(c)(3) status and was officially incorporated by the state of North Carolina on August 3, 2017.
